보고, 듣고, 소리 내어 읽는 과정은 아이들이 언어를 익히는 데 큰 도움이 돼요. 아이와 학생들은 매일 자신이 좋아하는 이중언어 오디오북을 들으며 자연스럽게 읽기 연습을 할 수 있어요. 흥미가 있는 주제일수록 더 오래 집중하게 되고, 두 언어를 배우는 시간도 더 많아져요. 이런 학습 방식을 ‘관심 기반 학습’이라고 해요. 많은 연구에서 언어 학습에 어려움을 겪는 학생들은 일상적인 언어 노출이 부족하다는 점이 공통적으로 나타나요. 새로운 언어를 익히려면 매일 듣고, 조금씩이라도 꾸준히 읽는 것이 정말 중요해요. 그래서 저희 프로그램도 아이가 즐겁게 참여할 수 있도록 다양한 주제를 담아 만들었어요. 하루에 한 권씩 읽으면 자연스럽게 언어 노출이 쌓여요. 줄마다 제공되는 번역은 학생들이 스스로 학습할 수 있도록 도와줘요. Look, Listen, and Read Out loud! Kids and language students can listen and read bilingual audiobooks they like daily! If the student is interested in the topic, they will spend more time reading and learning in two languages. We call this interest-based learning. Studies show that students who have not been successful at learning a second language lack everyday language exposure. Language students must hear the language they are trying to learn, daily and read a little everyday. This is why we built our program around interest-based learning. To make language learning part of a students’ everyday routine, there must be an element of enjoyment, hence why we created a variety of book topics to choose from. Kids and students are encouraged to read 1 book a day for everyday language exposure. Line by line translations allow students to learn independently.
